errrrrrrrrgh!
Today I am an apartment prisoner! The Quiet Police are checking the acoustics in each apartment in the building. To test this they blast a static noise outside then check the levels of sound in each suit. Let me tell you it is fricking annoying! Here is a taste of the lovely noise....

Saturday Night

Saturday Hugh invited Jade and I out to a party at the café bazaar. Before we headed to the café, we had a beer next to train station and this happened......

last week
Ok so I am a bit behind in posting but nothing really interesting happened during last week. On Thursday I cooked dinner for Jades co-worker Fabio from Italy…I made shaken bake! Haha it was awesome and it was a first for Fabio and he liked it!
On Friday Jade and I met his friend from back home Chris who was here to work on the negotiation of increasing grain exports to Europe on behalf of the Canadian farmers. We had a quick dinner then he had to get back to work so Jade and I headed down to the lake to check out the view from the pier. Here are some pics

Pre-Fest Festival
Last night Jade and I attended the pre-festival party for the Fêtes de Genève . The pre-festival runs from July 17-30th and then the Festival is July 31- August 10th.
Good thing we have had Stampede training!

Carouge

I check out an area of Geneva called Carouge. This part of the city has a very different look, its has quiet, attractive streets packed with artists’ workshops and old-style cafés. It is defiantly the design district and has been referred to as the “Greenwich Village” of Geneva. Here are a few pictures of the area. I am going to explore it further another day, but you defiantly need a shopping buddy to enjoy these cool shops!

Adventure to France
On Saturday we went on a bus adventure to France. For 3 Swiss Francs you can take the number 8 bus for about 15min to the boarder town Vernier Switzerland.

Then you walk over the unguarded boarder to a little French town called Saleve. Here we took the gondola up to the top of the Mount Saleve for a picnic.

Going up!
We hiked further up the mountains to find a nice spot of a picinic away from the people and found a nice spot for a quick drink and snack.

We were lucky to see some paragliding before we headed back
On the way down on the gondola noticed a little castle on the side of the mountain
It was a wonderful adventure to France!
Random Festival
On Friday night we went for a walk and again found ourselves at another festival. There seems to be theme with these festivals, ethnic food, booze and a crapy cover band.

Natural History
I headed over to the museum of natural history this week and it was really disappointing but it was free. The animals are all stuffed and put in shadow boxes but there was a live turtle on exhibit when you enter. This is not an ordinary turtle but one that has two heads! But of course it was hiding so I couldn’t get a picture.
Here is Canada.... home sweet home eh!
news!
Sorry I didn’t really post anything this week. I was a bad start with Robin’s death but the week ended with some exciting news. Firstly, the lovely Katarina Korac got engaged to her beau Paul Dojcinovic. Gerlad Celebrated his birthday in style back home with a tubby dog lunch. My bother and his fiancée had their second child, a boy, Jory Royal Downey and finally, I received my residence permit which means that Jade’s work permit will be processed… this means we can stay!
