A weekend in Lyon, France.

It is very quick for us to take the train to Lyon from Geneva, so we found a few bands playing one weekend in Lyon and caught a train for the weekend. Lyon is a major centre of business with a reputation as the French capital of gastronomy and having a significant role in the history of cinema. Together with its suburbs and satellite towns, Lyon forms the second-largest metropolitan area in France after that of Paris. One thing that we noticed because it is not as known as Paris so french is much more used. It was great food and music but my camera died so there are only a few pictures but since it is so close to us, I am sure we will go back.

Halloween Look away MOM!

This years Halloween costumes were put together by Jade and his gory make-up skills! They do not really do Halloween in Switzerland so just imagine to look on peoples faces when we where riding the bus and walking down the streets. Great fun and I am looking forward to next years party!

Paris

I think that I am at the point with Paris where I have seen a lot of it from my other weekend trips that I do not feel that I need to take a picture every second. So now I can enjoying Paris for being Paris. It is a nice luxury to live a few hours way. On this trip we had Patrick visiting so we showed him the sights and we checked out Napoleon Tomb and I had bought us tickets to see Dita VonTesse in her burlesque show. It was a great weekend and it is nice experiencing it with friends!
On May 5th 1821, Napoléon I passed away on the island of St Helena, where he had been in exile ever since 1815. He was buried close to a spring, in the shadows of a few weeping willows, in the "Geranium valley". His remains rested there until October 15th 1840. In 1840, King Louis-Philippe decided to transfer the body of the Emperor. The body of the Emperor Napoléon I was laid there on April 2nd 1861.The tomb, crafted in red porphyry from Russia, placed on a green granite base from the Vosges, is circled by a crown of laurels and inscriptions, reminders of the great victories of the Empire.
